Balboa BWA Wi-Fi Module Kit 51159

The BWA Wi-Fi Module Kit allows you to access you hot tub via direct connection anywhere in the local proximity of your tub, anywhere in your house that can connect to your local Wi-Fi network, or anywhere in the world you have an internet connection to your smart device.

The app provides full interface control so you can set the temperature, turn pumps on and off and even set filtration cycles.

Notes:

  • You will receive a notification approximately 45 days prior the end of the expiration of your Cloud access with instruction on how to renew.
  • If your tub has been pre-installed with a Wi-Fi connection cable, open the equipment compartment and plug the bwa module into it. If it has not, you should contact your local dealer or a professional spa technician to open the control pack and to plug the bwa module int the appropriate connector.

Great addition

I ordered the WiFi module for my CalSpas hot tub so I could turn the jets on without leaving my seat. The installation was fairly simple. I watched a couple of YouTube videos first, so I felt pretty comfortable. Getting it to connect to my router took a bit of time, but nothing too bad. Overall, it’s been a nice enhancement.

The Wi-Fi module couldn’t be any easier to install. A quick YouTube search to determine the correct port on the motherboard of the spa pack to plug the module into and a reboot of the system by powering down/up the spa allowed the device to be seen in the Spa Touch panel. Connectivity from that point was easy and painless.

Works great but only one device.

You can only connect one device to the module. You have to reset it to connect another device. Multiple devices would be better. That cost one star.
With that said, installation and setup was super easy, and immediate response on the app to start and stop jets and lights.

Fast delivery and easy installation

My 2021 Artesian hot tub didn't include the wifi module, but it did have a second port available to connect the BWA wifi module I got from Hot Tub Warehouse. This meant I didn’t need the included splitter and installation was very easy: Plug and play. After installing and restarting the system, the module initialized and worked perfectly. It even showed the wifi symbol on the spa control panel. Connecting it to the Android BWA app was also easy and now i have full control via wifi. Very glad i got the module!

When starting the app, you have three connection options:

1. Phone direct to hot tub. You have to be within 10-20 feet and connect to the wifi network the module puts out.
2. Phone to hot tub via your local wifi network. After you connect the hot tub to your home wifi, you can be anywhere in your house where you are connected to your wifi.
3. Phone to hot tub via internet and BWA's servers. You can be anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access.

Love being connected.

This module worked well with my master spa. I love being able to keep an eye on the hot tub in extremely cold weather. I needed to move my WiFi access point closer to the hot tub to improve the connection. If you are a Apple HomeKit user, you can use the homebridge plugin to automate your hot tub with the home app.

Good module, but the app is a little finicky

The wifi module was real simple to install and only required one connection. The app interface could use some work. It has a simple design, which is a good thing, but some of the functionality is finicky when trying to connect via the cloud. It works great as long as you are connecting through your home wifi.
