I like the red button because it is more noticeable for first time users. I had a new user try to force a locked cylinder to close the cover and the shaft buckled. If you have ball joints on both ends you need to convert one end to the included clevis type pin mount. It works ok but would be even better if there was a slot in the sleeve to keep the cylinder in the middle of the pin. If can i slide to the outside of the mounting bolt sleeve and then the cylinder body can bind on the rail.

So it works very well but could use some design improvement.

The gas charge is stronger so the effort to raise the cover is better. I also replaced the non locking cylinder on the other side.
